nascido em Caratinga - I was born in Caratinga
no estado de Minas Gerais.- in the state of Minas Gerais.
Atualmente - Currently
eu moro no Reino Unido - I live in The UK.
Mudei me para a Inglaterra - I moved to England
em 2005 e aqui - in 2005 and here
comecei uma nova história - I started a new story,
repleta de novas experiências - full of new experiences.
Eu fui professor - I was a teacher
no Brasil durante 12 anos - in Brazil for 12 years.
Ensinar sempre - Teaching has always
foi a minha paixão - been my passion.
Logo que cheguei - As soon as I arrived
em Londres encontrei - in London, I found
uma comunidade de brasileiros - a Brazilian community
que frequentavam - attending
a igreja católica - the Catholic church
na paróquia de Whitechapel - in the Whitechapel parish.
Já no meu primeiro - on my first
dia na igreja - day in the church,
eu conversei com o padre - I spoke to the priest
e pedi a ele - and asked him
permissão para ensinar - permission to teach
inglês nível iniciante - English at a beginner's level
como voluntário - as a volunteer
para as pessoas - to the people
que haviam acabado - who had just
de chegar do Brasil - arrived from Brazil
e que precisavam - and who needed
saber ao menos o básico - to know at least the basics
para se comunicarem - to communicate
na cidade - in the city
e também - and also
para conseguirem um emprego - to be able to get a job.
E assim começou - And so it began
minha nova jornada - my new journey
no mundo do ensino - in the teaching world.
Novamente eu voltei - Once again I went back
a ser professor - to being a teacher.
Durante mais ou menos 7 anos - For about 7 years
eu ensinei o Inglês - I taught English
lá na igreja gratuitamente - there at the church for free
todas as noites da semana - every night of the week,
das 19:00 às 21:00 horas - from 7pm to 9pm
e também aos sábados - and also on Saturdays
das 9:00 às 13:00 horas - from 9am to 1pm.
Hoje em dia - Nowadays
devido a minha carga horária - due to my workload
no trabalho e também - at work and also
à minha vida pessoal - at my personal life,
não é mais possível - it is no longer possible
eu dedicar-me - for me to devote myself
ao ensino do inglês - to teaching English
como antes de forma presencial - as before in person.
Eu sinto falta daquele tempo - I miss that time,
aonde eu estava ensinando - in which I was teaching
e ao mesmo - and at the same
tempo aprendendo - time I was learning
com as pessoas interessantes - from the interesting people
que conheci naquela época.- that I met back then.
Ultimamente tenho escutado - Lately I've been listening to
uma voz dentro de mim - a voice inside me
falando sem parar que eu - telling me non-stop that I
devia voltar a ensinar - should go back to teaching,
pois ensinar - because teaching
é o que me impulsiona - is what drives me,
me dá energia - is what gives me energy
e faz eu sentir-me vivo - and makes me feel alive
Daí surgiu essa ideia - Hence this idea
de criar um podcast - of creating a podcast
no qual eu posso - in which I can
estar pondo em prática - be putting into practice
o meu dom de ensinar - my gift of teaching
e de ser professor - and of being a teacher.
